Mari Dein
I explore the themes of a human relationship with the world around, human strength and weakness, through appeal to body language, facial expressions, working with color and combining calm strokes with expressive ones. I create images at the intersection of figurative painting and abstraction, develop my technique with a palette knife, experimenting with others. I use lively and understandable images and try to convey my emotional attitude through voluminous mosaic strokes, as well as through a color palette.
I was born in a small town in Siberia. Until the age of 12, my father taught me to draw and work with a brush, as my uncle once taught him, so we can say that we have a small dynasty of artists. After art school, I studied art and graduated from the Ural State Art Academy. I travel a lot, part of my family lives in different countries: Germany, Ukraine, Norway. This greatly affects my perception of the world and improves my horizons.
